Copy Paste Assistant is a lightweight productivity tool designed to help you quickly fill in frequently used text snippets. Whether it's filling out forms, replying to customer emails, or managing development code snippets, Copy Paste Assistant saves you time and reduces repetitive tasks.
Click the Copy Paste Assistant icon and find the "Add" entry. You can choose a category for the snippet (like common addresses or email signatures) or save it to the "Default" category, then click save.
Click the puzzle icon ๐งฉ in the top right corner of your browser, find "Copy Paste Assistant", and click the ๐ pin icon to pin Copy Paste Assistant to the toolbar for quick access anytime.
This is a standard security prompt from the browser. Copy Paste Assistant needs this permission to show the "๐" icon when you click on an input box and to help you automatically fill in text. Copy Paste Assistant never collects your passwords, bank card numbers, or any private information.
Copy Paste Assistant is completely free and runs entirely locally on your computer. All your data is stored only in your local browser and never connects to any server, operating completely offline. You can use Copy Paste Assistant normally even without an internet connection. Additionally, you can use the "Export" function to save your data as a text file and "Import" it on a new computer to restore everything.
No. To protect your privacy and keep your list clean, Copy Paste Assistant only saves text when you "manually add" it or use the right-click menu "Add to Assistant". This prevents sensitive information like temporary passwords from being saved accidentally.
No need for manual copy-pasting! Simply select the text on the page, right-click, and choose "Add to Assistant". The content will be automatically saved in Copy Paste Assistant, with line breaks and extra spaces neatly organized.
There are three ways to choose from: 1. Click an input box, wait for the ๐ icon to appear in the bottom right, and click it to select content; 2. Right-click inside an input box and find your content through the category hierarchy in the menu; 3. Open the Copy Paste Assistant popup, search for the content, click to copy, and then paste it manually.
Remarks (Name): Give your content a memorable title, like naming a long address "Office Address" for quick identification; Categories: Group multiple snippets together in Copy Paste Assistant, such as "Work", "Shopping", or "Dev Snippets", for better organization.
You can create custom categories through the Copy Paste Assistant interface to organize and manage your snippets. Each snippet can be given a title for quick identification. You can also pin a category to ensure it's always visible in Copy Paste Assistant.
For high-frequency information (like tax IDs or addresses), you can click the pin icon (๐). This keeps the item at the top of its category in Copy Paste Assistant so it won't be pushed down by new content.
Click the Copy Paste Assistant icon and use the search bar at the top. You can search by snippet name or content across all categories, and keywords will be highlighted in the Copy Paste Assistant results.
The icon is designed with high transparency and usually doesn't block input areas. If it's in the way, simply move your mouse away and it will automatically fade out. You can also disable the "Floating Window" in Copy Paste Assistant settings and use only the right-click menu.
Since data is stored locally for privacy, it won't sync automatically. If you change computers, please click "Export" in the Copy Paste Assistant settings of your old computer to save a backup file, then "Import" it on the new computer to migrate your data.
Copy Paste Assistant is smart! If you leave the name blank, Copy Paste Assistant will automatically use the first 15 characters of the content as the default name, helping you identify it quickly in the list.
No. For data safety, when you delete a custom category in Copy Paste Assistant, all its items are automatically moved to the built-in "Default" category, where you can find them anytime.
If the auto-fill feature of Copy Paste Assistant fails, it is usually because you are on a browser-protected page (such as the Chrome Web Store, browser settings, or internal pages starting with chrome://), where extensions are prohibited from performing automated input for security reasons. Some banking or highly secure websites may also block such actions. In these cases, you can use Copy Paste Assistant to copy the snippet manually and then paste it into the field.
Copy Paste Assistant has specific handling for modern frameworks like React and Vue. Copy Paste Assistant uses native JavaScript to trigger events, ensuring it works correctly with submission detection on most complex webpages.
Please confirm: 1. You clicked on a text-inputtable field (some websites have special input structures); 2. Copy Paste Assistant is enabled; 3. Try refreshing the page. Note: For security reasons, browsers prohibit Copy Paste Assistant from running on certain special pages (e.g., system settings, some bank login pages).
Search matches both the "Remark Name" and the "Content" itself. If you still can't find it, please confirm the item wasn't accidentally deleted by checking the corresponding category in Copy Paste Assistant.
A few very complex websites have special validation. If this happens, after filling the text using Copy Paste Assistant, click inside the box or press the space bar to let the website know the content has been updated. If it still doesn't work, please let us know the website URL for further investigation.
Copy Paste Assistant includes a confirmation dialog when deleting items to prevent accidents. Once confirmed, the data is removed locally from Copy Paste Assistant. We recommend exporting backups regularly just in case.
Dark mode is already on the Copy Paste Assistant development roadmap and will be released in a future version.
