Collections & Customization

How do I add symbols to my favorites with Special Character Picker?

You can right-click any symbol in Special Character Picker and select "Add to Favorites." Your favorite symbols will appear in the Special Character Picker "Favorites" category for quick access.

I use a few symbols frequently, can I pin them to the top of Special Character Picker?

Of course! In addition to manual favorites, Special Character Picker automatically tracks your "Recently Used" history and displays it at the top. Your most used symbols in Special Character Picker are always just one click away.

Can I manage my favorites separately for different scenarios in Special Character Picker?

Absolutely! In Special Character Picker, we introduced "Collection Categories." You can click the management icon in Special Character Picker to create multiple categories such as "Work," "Academic," or "Daily Chat."

Why does a category selection interface pop up when I add a favorite in Special Character Picker?

This is to help you organize your Special Character Picker symbol library more efficiently. When you have multiple categories, Special Character Picker will ask you where you want to store the new symbol via this interface.

If I delete a custom category in Special Character Picker, will the symbols inside be lost?

Rest assured, your data in Special Character Picker is safe. When you delete a custom category in Special Character Picker, all characters under that category will be automatically moved back to the "Default Favorites" category.

Can I add symbols myself to Special Character Picker?

Absolutely! Special Character Picker is not just a library; it's your private symbol manager. You can paste special symbols you see anywhere into the Special Character Picker search box, then right-click the search result to "Add to Favorites."

Can I add my favorite Kaomojis to Special Character Picker?

No problem at all. You can add complex Kaomojis to your Special Character Picker favorites as a whole, and next time you use them, you only need one click.

Can I add common phrases or long text fragments to Special Character Picker?

Yes. Since we support collecting custom text, you can collect commonly used email addresses or code snippets, and use Special Character Picker as a lightweight clipboard enhancement tool.

Privacy & Security

Does Special Character Picker read my webpage data or input content?

Absolutely not. Special Character Picker only requests necessary permissions for clipboard and interface display. Special Character Picker does not collect any of your input content, browsing history, or personal data.

Compatibility & Troubleshooting

Why does "Direct Insert" in Special Character Picker sometimes fail to work?

If the "Direct Insert" feature of Special Character Picker fails, it is usually because you are on a browser-protected page (such as the Chrome Web Store, browser settings pages, or pages starting with chrome://), where extensions are prohibited from performing automatic input. Additionally, some websites with extremely strict security policies or unique architectures may block input. In these cases, you can use the "Smart Copy" feature of Special Character Picker to copy the symbol and then manually paste it into the target location.

I clicked "Direct Insert" in Special Character Picker, but the symbol didn't appear?

"Direct Insert" in Special Character Picker requires the webpage input box to be active. Please click the target input box first, then return to the Special Character Picker panel and click the symbol.

Can I use Special Character Picker "Direct Insert" in desktop software?

No. "Direct Insert" in Special Character Picker only works for web input boxes within the browser. For desktop software, please use the Special Character Picker "Smart Copy" and paste manually.

Can I use symbols from Special Character Picker in any application?

Yes. You can use the Special Character Picker "Smart Copy" function to copy any symbol to the clipboard and then paste it into any desktop application.

Are symbols in Special Character Picker compatible with major social platforms?

Fully compatible. All characters provided by Special Character Picker are based on standard Unicode, so you can safely use them to personalize your social media bios and posts.

Will symbols copied from Special Character Picker show up as garbled text?

No. Special Character Picker follows internationally accepted standards, which means the symbols you copy will display normally on most modern devices and software.

Why do some symbols display as a "box" on my screen when using Special Character Picker?

This is usually because your operating system is missing a font that supports that specific character. Even if you see a box in Special Character Picker, as long as the recipient's device supports the character, they will see it correctly.

Does Special Character Picker support Dark Mode?

Yes, Special Character Picker automatically detects your system preferences. If your system or browser has Dark Mode enabled, Special Character Picker will automatically switch to a dark interface.

Can I use Special Character Picker without an internet connection?

Absolutely. All character libraries and search functions are built into Special Character Picker. Once installed, Special Character Picker works 100% offline.

When managing extensions, an inspect view shows "Service Worker inactive" for Special Character Picker. Does this affect usage?

Not at all. This is the Special Character Picker background management mechanism. When there are no tasks, it enters a "hibernation" state to save memory. As soon as you start using Special Character Picker, it will wake up. This does not mean Special Character Picker is broken.

Why does a prompt appear saying "Special Character Picker has been disabled, need to accept new permissions to enable"?

This usually happens because Special Character Picker has been updated and requested new permissions to improve your experience. The Special Character Picker privacy policy remains the same, and all data processing is done locally, so you can safely accept and continue using Special Character Picker.

What should I do if a rare symbol I need is not in Special Character Picker?
